The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District moves to 4750 E. 131 St. in Garfield Heights. 1/19/2011
Effective January 1, 2011, The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District headquarters has relocated to 131st Street in Garfield Heights. The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District is one of 52 solid waste management districts created by Ohio’s counties following the passage of the Ohio Solid Waste Disposal Act in 1988. This law requires districts to prepare and implement plans to reduce the amount of waste disposed in Ohio’s landfills by increasing recycling and waste reduction activities statewide. In addition to serving as the headquarters for District offices, this new facility provides a home for the County to conduct material processing activities for residential waste requiring special handling such as paints, computer screens and petroleum based products, household cleaning fluids, and other household waste items not suitable for the typical residential waste cycle. This unique 34,200 sf project included adaptive conversion and reuse of an existing functionally obsolete, vacant property located within an inner ring community surrounding Cleveland. Part of the conversion included 100% green construction practices, and sustainable design efforts using LEEDS EB standards as guidelines. Work included complete site re-grading and reconfiguration, installation of new site utilities and site lighting, adding truck docks and drive in doors, adding windows to a windowless façade, constructing 6,000, sf of new energy efficient office space and 24,200 sf of energy efficient material processing space, and completing the entire project within 120 days following lease execution. The project was constructed by Dalad Construction Company on a turn-key basis. HSB Architects provided Architectural design and MEP Engineering Services. The project finished on time and on budget. NVR/Ryan Homes relocates to Southpointe Corporate Center in Brecksville, Ohio. 1/19/2011
Effective August 1, 2010 NVR/Ryan homes has consolidated and relocated their Cleveland operations into 23,000+ square feet at 6770 W. Snowville Road bringing the complex to 98.4% occupancy. Census Bureau 2010 leases office space at SouthPointe Corporate Center in Brecksville, Ohio 8/28/2009
The General Service Administration (GSA) has leased office space at Southpointe Corporate Center located at 6802 W. Snowville Road, Brecksville, Ohio 44141 for the Cleveland (South) Ohio 2010 Census location. The 2010 Census is a count of everyone living in the United States and is mandated by the U.S. Constitution. Census data are used to distribute Congressional seats to states, to distribute more than $400 billion in federal funds to local, state and tribal governments each year and to make decisions about what community services to provide. The 2010 Census questionnaire will be one of the shortest in history and consists of 10 questions, taking about 10 minutes to complete. Strict confidentiality laws protect the confidentiality of respondents and the information they provide.
